Hi Embers,
This past weekend was a great turnout with our weedwacking team!
With 10 members working on Saturday 8/3 for a total of 37.5 hours, and 5 members working on Sunday 8/4 for a total of 14.5 hours, we blew it out with a whopping 52 hour weekend total in man/woman hours. We are doing an awesome job at eliminating the regrowth on Painted Cave Road.
The area that we worked on beginning at the junction of Painted Cave Road and 154 on up to the Living Room is almost finished, and I anticipate that we should have that entire section completed this following Saturday if all goes favorably.
With 8am-10am the shift that people liked, I believe that even though it was a hot job, we were able to make the best of the cooler hours. Most appreciated was the fact that people even stayed later to finish the sections they were were working on. It is my hope that this same 8-10 shift will continue to be a feasible and convenient time for all.
Great news is that a brand new gas leaf blower was donated to our team, making clean up a breeze. Also noteworthy was the passersby who were cheering us on and the one anonymous donor who contributed $25 cash for supplies.
My many thanks to everyone as it is a pleasure to have the opportunity to be working on such a worthwhile endeavor. It is amazing to see the pride of ownership that you all put into your work.
This coming weekend I will be bringing snacks and cold drinks for all. See you all at the Living Room.
