Hi all - Please know I have been equally as startled and baffled by the recent screaming weather notifications over the past few days. These were not generated by the MET. I have spoken with the company representative. They were just made aware of the problem today. Several of them in Chicago and Florida, also received the same notification.... Apparently, the development team in India, did 'something', and managed to change the geo-fencing, which automatically included us in notifications being issued by the UK. She seemed to think the issue has been resolved. I suggest you check the app on your phone, go to 'groups' and you will see a list of groups that you are or will receives notices from. Next to most of them is a 'discontinue' button. The Severe Weather Warnings group is the one coming from the UK. If you click on discontinue, that should stop the ridiculous alerts. You can also turn off the Earthquake notifications there, should you choose.
